Our first artist, Nickithagreat, a secret gem from New York, is much more than your average rapper, in fact, every artist mentioned on this blog is a creator with a purpose behind their music. Nicki creates majority upbeat music that has the power to affect and touch people of all races, colours and backgrounds. His sound is inspired by artists like PartyNextDoor, Young thug, Future and Trippie Red. He looks up to those at the top, and one day aspires to be sat there one day or be ‘even greater.
For 2022, in a recent interview he said “Well in 2022, I plan on dropping my first project. We’ve been working on it for some time so my producer ( @deadinside ) and I are pretty excited.”

Artist: Collin Bertch. AKA TAXI CAB
Call him your ‘friendly neighbourhood rapper’ from Kalamazoo Michigan. Collin discovered the world of rap in 2016 during his freshman year of high school, taking initial inspiration from J Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Tyler the creator. Though he takes influence from these rappers, in a recent interview he said ‘I keep my sound as authentic as possible.
The motive behind Collin’s music is to spark ‘some sort of emotion in the listener’. This is to replicate the same feeling he gets when listening to Hip-hop, the feeling of reminiscing on past experiences, bringing a number of thoughts into perspective. In the interview, he said ‘I just want to make good music. As we can see, Collin isn’t any old rapper, he’s Collin Bertch, a new wave with good vibes and ready to make the main stage. South London born, KAIO, there’s not much more to be said, he is next up. He takes inspiration from mostly UK rappers, such as Dave, 169 and Smino. He creates music as an art, that’s why he’s not just a rapper, he is an artist, a creative with a unique sound which someday we will hear him at the top. Virginia’s self-made artist, Tommy Positivity creates a fresh unique approach to old sounds in order to form his masterpiece. He believes ‘music is meant to inspire and motivate people to do good and expose darkness for what it is; hence the name, Positivity. Aido is Pennsylvania born and raised, his number one inspiration is kid Cudi. From a young, he grew up listening and the music continued to influence Aido’s music. This not only inspired Aido to be more versatile and more creative, but it forced him to reach for the stars and aspire to be one of the best and continue to inspire people in the future with his music. True Confidence is ready to come into the industry with a bang. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio he really is a unique artist with big dreams and a high work ethic. True Confidence takes inspiration from Michael Jackson, Ne-yo and Musiq Soulchild. Taking the old style and putting a modern twist on it, True Confidence does that best.
He aims to inspire other people through his music as he grows and helps people connect with the music to make them relate to it in some way and possibly help someone cope with a certain situation. “Music has the power to do that” he mentions in a recent interview. In 2022 he aims to get on the main stage and release multiple groundbreaking projects, stay tuned!

Putting Montreal, Quebec on the map, we have Marcosth3frog, who is not just a rapper, but a creator with a vision. He takes inspiration from rappers Bad bunny and Juice Wrld, who do not online influence his sound, but the lyrics. They inspire Marcos to speak about himself and his reality instead of about tons of money and material objects.
The main benefit he receives when making music is the feeling of joy and being in a different world, almost like reading a good, escaping the problems and affecting peoples emotions in a positive way. He’s working on a new sound that no one has heard before in the Hip-Hop industry, by moulding and experimenting with different genres. Florida born and raised Lyricist ‘Yachto” is stepping into the industry with a new sound and a new wave for 2022, He really is not like the rest... Taking inspiration from Method Man, TIP and young Dolph influence his lyricism with the ‘crazy bars’ to create real ‘hustler music’. He doesn’t create workout music, that’s where he’s misunderstood, ‘real recognise real.
Yacht is making the sacrifice of time and energy so that in the coming future, he can live lavishly with his family, taking them out, making movies and sharing the wealth to give back to his city. In a recent interview, Yachto said that for 2022 ‘My EP “Croc #3253” Dropping TBD;I Produced many beats on this Project debuting a new Sound and vibe to explore. The motive behind is music is to create a sound that people can enjoy just like he enjoys creating it. He started his love of rapping as a kid and till today, he’s still doing what he loves and killing it.

EMCE green is a hidden talent from Anchorage Alaska. He takes inspiration from artists that dial back to the renaissance era, which is crazy for an artist in this generation. He takes the influence of Petro Aretino, who went ‘viral’, to the point of getting praised by the Pope, even before there was any sort of technology. Green also take influence from the greatest of this generation, including incredible lyricists Drake (artist of the decade) and Kendrick Lamar (Pulitzer prize recipient)
The motive behind EMCE Green’s music is not only to spark motivation when there is a need or to give hope, or even to infect people to dance and let loose; it is mostly to capture the zeitgeist of our current era, to go down in history in a replicating way of Shakespear’s long-lived influence. The motive behind Jay The Renegade’s music is to reach out to people who feel alone in this selfish society of people only trying to feed their own. When he started rapping at a young age, it was never about the money, but because he fell in love with the realness and authenticity of Hip-Hop. Rap is everything to him.
