South West London talent Dunz is more than a rapper. He is an expressive lyricist who takes inspiration from artists: Mac Miller, J Cole, and Loyle Carner. With Mac Miller at the top of the list because that was the music Dunz listened most to as a kid, growing up with a true appreciation of music above his age. This pushed him to make his songs ‘Keeping Low’ and ‘I Can Try’
Dunz creates music with the purpose a different purpose than most artists, he said in a recent interview ‘Other artists want money and a lifestyle. For me, my motive behind the music is purely the joy and satisfaction I get out of the process of making the music and the work I put in myself. I have a passion for music, it’s all I have known all my life.
Played the drums since I was 9 years old and ever since I have only ever wanted to make music. My motive is my passion, I want to be disruptive in this industry with the art I create and I will never lose my passion for music.’
In the next month, Dunz plans to release a single called ‘Out The Ride’ and also an EP in the summer of 2022. He is constantly looking for artists and producers to collaborate with and hope’s to take on some more collaborative projects going forward! Don’t sleep on Dunz.
